We highly recommend Gordon Dixon Construction whether you are building from the ground up, adding on or remodeling. The owners run a very professional office with a detail oriented office manager and construction crew.
We went into the project with the idea of building a garage and adding a mudroom connector in the future. We ended up doing both projects at the same time, however, GDC never steered us one way or another. They gave us the information we needed and let us come to the decision that worked best for our family. In the end we even added a small bathroom renovation as well.
We had regularly scheduled meetings about our project from start to finish. They were so attentive to every detail. They are well connected with amazing subcontractors which makes the process even more seamless.
We lived on site during construction so we were able to get to know Robin, Gordon, and the builders, they became an extension of our family. When the project was complete and the crew was gone our kids said they were sad to see them go! That's when you know you have a good team and is one of many reasons we recommend GDC.

Gordon Dixon Construction is a top rate company. They built a custom 3000 sq. foot house for us. GDC's reputation is for quality and budgetary honesty. We found both to be true and the experience was extremely positive for us.
The construction process went smoothly and the workmanship is beautiful. The house turned out even nicer than our the high expectations we had going into the project.
The budget GDC put forward at the beginning was realistic. There were no cost overruns other than those initiated by us or material increase due to the tariff situation.

We can't find enough words to say how EXCELLENT and AMAZING working with Gordon Dixon Construction was!! When we first told our friends and family that we were building our house and we will be done by Thanksgiving, everyone said "that means maybe Christmas if you are lucky", "building is the worst nightmare you'll have", "you won't be talking with the builder by the end"........and so on. Despite all the criticism we got, building the house with Gordon Dixon went SO smoothly and was the most pleasant experience we've had. He not only finished on time, but under budget as well! Starting from Gordon, the office staff and everyone that worked for Gordon were professional in every aspect of the jobs they did. We just can't praise Gordon Dixon Construction enough!!

I was presented with a substantial donation with the directive to build a fitness center. As the head of a small, private school, construction was not really in my skill set! After some discussion I chose Gordon Dixon to head this project - his reputation, consistently, was "always on budget, always on time." (they worked through a cold, snowy winter to keep on track) Although this was critical for me it was all of the other aspects that made this daunting responsibility a reality. Throughout the process Gordon and his crew were so great to work with in so many ways. Gordon, Robin and Meredith helped guide me in design which was pretty intimidating for me in the beginning. Gordon's crew was always attentive and always had time for me when I was on site. If I mentioned something in passing - I would return the next day and it was already done! We ended up with a beautiful facility that fits both our needs and our philosophy - clean and efficient with a touches of class. The hardest part of this project was the day the boys packed up and drove the trailers away!! I miss seeing them all!
Our experience with this company has always been stellar! They are patient, highly communicative and always want what is best for their customer. This project, a 10,000 square foot academic building, was daunting for someone whose background is in education! Gordon and his crew walked us through each phase, each step with clear guidance around design, materials and options. They understood the feel I was trying to create and the spaces that were needed. They were very conscious of the budget and they kept us within what was proposed. Despite our (not theirs) issues with some permitting and throw in the Covid constraints they kept to the timeline and got us in a week before we opened. Last but not least, they have the ability to manage many different personalities, listen to all and keep everyone satisfied.

In September 2006 we decided to take an adventure and venture on our site project to remodel or build our new restaurant in Stowe. After getting the feel and pricing with some of the contractors in the area we decided on giving the project to GDC, a company with a great local reputation and great family vibe. On October 31, 2008 we demolished the old building and started our project to build an energy efficient structure that as part of the specifications had a production kitchen, office and storage area in the basement, a 75 seat restaurant in the main floor and three one bedroom apartments fully equipped in the second level. On November 15, 2009 we had the pleasure to open our doors to the public as Restaurant Santos Cocina Latina and our three one bedroom Lodge. That could not be possible without the help of Gordon and the A TEAM of Dixon Construction.
We had a great experience throughout the whole process, from keeping our budget together, learning about building an energy efficient structure, planning how everything was going to work together, keeping the lines of communication open at all times, the attention to details throughout the whole process and most important working happy and with pride on what they were doing. The whole team was very professional and hardworking even on a -10 degree snowy day.
Today we own one of the most beautiful and energy efficient buildings in Stowe thanks to the great workmanship and hands of the people involved with Gordon Dixon Construction. To this day we feel very grateful and honored with the Dixon Family of being one of the key ingredients in the making of our project a total success and a cool place to be.

Gordon Dixon Construction designed and built our house on a beautiful lot in Stowe, The process was outstanding in every way - their knowledge of the process, materials, energy efficiency was excellent. Their estimates of cost and timing were very accurate (they actually came in slightly under budget), and their attention to detail and quality of construction was exceptional. Every project meets challenges along the way - Gordon's ability and creativity in solving problems (e.g. mud preventing moving in heavy equipment needed to drill a well before the ground froze), and to communicate clearly along the way was exceptional. The product was a unique home - beautifully situated, beautifully built and a wonderful place to live.
