our crew

our crew

Over the years we’ve built an extremely skilled and cohesive team. Many of us have been working together since GDC was founded in 1991. We bring over 125 years of combined experience to every project. Several members of our crew are native Vermonters who have a great appreciation for traditional Vermont architecture.

Our team has a very high “care factor.” Along with a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship, we share a passion for building homes that will be enjoyed for generations. Our customers often comment on how they enjoyed getting to know the guys. One former client still tracks down the crew at new jobsites with her homemade desserts. We are proud of our team’s dedication and professionalism.

We invite you to stop in and visit us at our office at 626 Mountain Road in Stowe, on the corner of Weeks Hill Road.

GORDON DIXON

Vermont has always been a part of Gordon’s life. Growing up, he spent summers and vacations at his family’s home in southern Vermont. After graduating from the University of Vermont in 1986, he briefly explored a career in law and city living before returning to Vermont to enjoy the outdoors lifestyle and the physical and rewarding work of construction. He worked as an apprentice and cabinetmaker before starting his own company in 1991.

Gordon and Robin have lived in Stowe for 25 years, where they have raised three children and four dogs. Gordon is an avid hiker, runner and skier, and an active member of the Stowe community.  He coaches high school soccer, serves on the board of the Stowe Historic Preservation Committee and is a steward for the Stowe Land Trust.

ROBIN DIXON

Co-Owner/Business Manager
Robin@gordondixonconstruction.com

Originally from New York, Robin spent much of her childhood at her family’s home in southern Vermont. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 1986, and worked in the print production and graphic design fields in Boston and Vermont. After Robin and Gordon started a family in 1994, she took over the bookkeeping for GDC. Her role has grown over the years to include overseeing the office, human resources, marketing and project management.

When she’s not in the office, Robin spends as much time as possible in the outdoors, hiking, kayaking and cross-country skiing and at home working in her gardens.
